Apologetics vs Evangelism: What is the Difference?

Apologetics and Evangelism: how are they related? Does the message need to be explained before it can be defended? What is the goal of each? Today, we are going to dig into this question. Apologetics comes from the Greek word, “apologia” meaning “defense” — in the sense that a lawyer would give at a trial. Apologetics is a means by which we address the challenges, concerns, and questions people have about the Christian faith. Evangelism focuses on the proclamation of the gospel, the good news of the deity, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the deliverer for sinful man and the only hope for salvation. Apologetics, on the other hand, is a defense of the Christian belief that helps to explain and clarify the gospel message.
