Note: I am fully aware that I used different pronunciations for σῳζομένοις a few times. I’m a Southerner. I barely speak English well. You should hear me speaking French 🙂 As with last week, I am going to spend the next couple of weeks addressing some attacks by King James Version Onlyists who have decided lately that they want to come after me and those around me who love the KJV, but are not textual absolutists. I have been getting comments, private messages, emails, letters in the mail, and even texts or phone calls from KJVO every single day for almost the last two years. It is amazing to me. I am told I am attacking the KJV. Not once. I don’t want anyone to stop using it. But it, like any translation into another language, cannot be perfect in every word — but it does remain perfect in all its teaching. For more than two years now, I have been trying to patiently teach and help people not leave the KJV, but to abandon the divisive, hateful and cultish mentality that is found among some King James Version Onlyists or even some so-called TR Onlyists who will only affirm the KJV as the perfect TR. Recently, I have been bombarded publicly and privately with accusations that I don’t even know if I am saved because modern versions causes people to doubt their salvation. Anyone using modern versions cannot have assurance of their salvation because 1 Corinthians 1:18 in modern versions says “being saved” rather than “saved” as is found in the KJV.
