This is a false teaching that simply will not die. This seems, by and large, to be a product of Dispensationalism. Now, this is absolutely not the teaching of all Dispensationalists and I wish to be very clear in stating that those who hold to the idea that Jesus preached a different gospel than Paul, that being a gospel of faith+works, is not found in nominal dispensationalism. This teaching is found in Hyper-Dispensationalism. Unfortunately, the lines are blurred. I want to address this false teaching by explaining where this teaching comes from and then speak to one of the key proof-texts of Hyper-Dispensationalists who wrongfully accuse Jesus of teaching a faith+works gospel.
