Debate: Are the sons of God in Genesis 6 Fallen Angels?

I had the opportunity to teach debate to an ethics class made up of seniors at a local Christian school today. As part of the class, Nathan Burris and I had a condensed (50-minutes) moderated debate on “The sons of God in Genesis are angelic beings”. Nathan took the affirmative and I argued the negative. It was his first debate and against his dad. It was fun and ultimately inconsequential with regard to any significant doctrine. He pulled no punches and commanded the text and articulated his position well. It was a proud dad moment. The students voted 11-10 with two undecided.
